SimPRENA Officially ‘Kicked Off’

A Kick-Off meeting for the SimPRENA Project was held at VSZ in Prague, Czech Republic. The meeting took place on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th March 2024 and saw colleagues from the project consortium come together for the first time. The first section of the agenda focused on ensuring all project partners had a good general overview of project and aims. The afternoon session was dedicated to creating action plans for the first 12 months of the project and day 2 ended with items on project management, dissemination, and communication. Most importantly, members of the consortium got to know one another during the coffee and lunch breaks, and during a get-together dinner after the meeting had finished. We look forward to our next in-person meeting in Germany next December.

The SimPRENA project is a multi-stakeholder collaborative effort and is expected to have a significant impact on enhancing the skills of nurses, paramedics and other health professionals, especially those who are not familiar with simulation-based training materials and practice. As a result, universities from each country will be assisted in creating their own program for simulation and prevention of the risk of aggression and violence in the healthcare setting.

By the end of 2025 the full set of training tools will be accessible on the project website and the results will be opened for other universities and health organisations who are aimed on the safety of their staff.
