Characters
Senior nurse: The senior nurse often undermines a junior nurse, making condescending comments about their competence in front of others. They are not aware of the impact it has on the junior nurse and other staff. They are grateful to a former mentor, who, despite making them cry many times, taught them the nursing profession with great skill and knowledge during their early years in nursing.
Junior nurse: A recently hired nurse eager to learn but struggling due to the senior nurse’s bullying behaviour. The junior nurse decides to address the situation directly.
Witnessing nurse: The nurse has witnessed a colleague being consistently criticised by senior nurse and receiving unfair assignments.
The junior nurse has experienced repeated instances of the senior nurse belittling their abilities, and being given impossible workloads, etc. The witnessing nurse has observed that this situation is having negative effects on the overall work atmosphere. It heightens stress levels for everyone. She has encouraged the junior nurse to address the issue directly, offering support if needed.
A quiet meeting room in the hospital, away from patients and other staff, where the junior nurse has requested to speak privately with the senior nurse. The witnessing nurse is present to offer support and mediate if tensions rise.
